How do I know if my DPF needs cleaning?

The usual signs of DPF problems are a DPF warning light on the dash, the car dropping into limp mode, poor engine performance, worse fuel economy, or DPF regeneration cycles that start and never finish. If the DPF light is on, book it in early. A blocked DPF caught soon is a clean. Left alone it becomes costly repairs.
