What’s the difference between budget, mid-range and premium tyres, and which do I really need?

Budget tyres get you legal and moving at the lowest price, mid-range balance cost against longer life and better grip, and premium tyres give you the shortest wet braking and the most miles per pound over time. The honest answer is that the right choice depends on how many miles you do, the car you drive and your budget, not on which set earns us the most. We’ll talk you through it in plain English, tell you where it’s worth spending and where it isn’t, and let you make the call. Nobody at VMB is going to push you toward nine new tyres when you came in for one.
